Do you ever thought of what you get if, Nike combines scales of volume with common materials and simplified construction to keep costs low, yes!! It’s Nike Air Zoom Elite 7. Along with the Structure and the Pegasus, the Air Zoom Elite has also just received a nifty new update. As the name suggests, it’s infused with super responsive Zoom Air and also just happens to be the lightest member of the Nike Zoom Training family. The update includes Dynamic Flywire for side support interwoven through a multi-layered fuse mesh upper, and a flex-grooved midsole for maximum impact absorption

Nike improvised the Air Zoom Elites as a neutral trainer with cushioning for the dedicated runner. It replaces the Air Zoom Elite 6s and brings a few nice upgrades. The Air Zoom Elite 7s are lighter, have a lower offset of 8mm, and have redesigned upper compared to the 6s.

Upper: The upper is a curious mix of plush and spartan, and strangely it appears to all add up together. In the back is a soft mesh topped, padded collar which is a straight lift from the Pegasus. The plush mesh with a soft Achilles dip is an improvement over the Elite 6. It is connected to a full-fledged internal sleeve made of foamed sandwiched mesh, which is part of Pegasus-Elite part sharing program. Top upper mesh is a breathable, single layer type overlaying the sleeve. Mid-foot takes a turn for minimalism, with a near-flat tongue, featuring a small patch of padding only near the lip

Outsole: Nike did not try anything fancy with the sole, they put in a large patch of hexagonal rubber bits under the forefoot and dual channels of rubber on the outside of the sole for additional traction. The key noticeable fact is the foam on the inner part of the sole that was completely exposed to the asphalt. Rather than keep the foam flat with minimal forming like Nike Frees, Nike added little diamond foam bumps that begin shredding after a dozen miles.

Verdict: Overall, Nike Air Zoom elite 7 is a training shoe for tempo runs. Its firm ride and snug upper is a bridge between a traditional cushioned trainer and a racing flat. The runner will get exactly what they want out of this neutral cushioned shoe i.e. a neutral cushioned ride. Nike also gives us a lighter shoe than anyone can expect from a trainer like this, but shoe wears down slightly faster. Finally, few comfortable miles are better than old and imperfect shoes.
