The fourth edition of Go Run series from Skechers is here – Sketchers Go Run 4. The discerning point is its lightweight and snug fit that boost the runner for an extra mile. Akin to Go Run 3, Go Run 4 comes with additional pair of insoles required to extract best out of them.

Upper: Skechers are promoting themselves as anyone can run in these pair without socks, and after testing its undoubtedly true. The upper is highly flexible and extremely comfortable, comprises of tightly woven outer layer over open inner mesh. This evidently keep the road debris out, however breathability is compromised. The upper quickly adapts the contour of foot due to pliable material and precise flexibility.

A new and controversial feature QuickFitPortal (QFP) has been introduced by Skechers (see image below). Basically, the QFP is a hole in the back of the shoe that is intended to be used as a finger-loop to help pull the shoe on quickly. It had major concerns about potential for abrasion against the skin from the margins of the portal, but after multiple sockless runs, it seemed to be benign.

Outsole: This time Skechers provided more cushioning in Go Run 4 (3mm more in both heel & forefoot) than its previous version GR3. The sole will definitely give the feeling of Saucony Kinvara 5, that can be placed in the same cushion category. A additional support in the form of english alphabet “M” has been placed in the midsole to provide more stability and extra return to the foot. Another feature of the outsole is go impulse sensors, these are strategical placed round pods that helps to attain much smoother ride.

Verdict: Th vibrant colors and gaudy look of Go Run4  may turn off few people but, its flexibility, comfortableness, durability, modest drop, near perfect fit will definitely let them fall in love with it.
